SOLYARIS MUSIC (Giorgio Robino)

My name is Giorgio Robino. Under the pseudonym SOLYARIS MUSIC, I released several (lap-steel) guitar-based ambient music albums from 2005 to 2008.

My deep-listening/ambient music represents my endeavor to create timescapes, a unique fusion of soundscapes "designed to transcend the illusion of time". Through this musical pursuit, I craft meditative, relaxing, and hypnotic ambient compositions characterized by the shimmering interplay of lap steel and electric guitars, enhanced with delays and hyper-overdubbing. The result is a captivating journey through quasi-tonal, detuned, slow-motion plucked coral liquid soups. 

This musical exploration originated as an extension of my live meditation performances, providing a means to find solace and tranquility. While my music may defy easy categorization as space music, electronic music, or ambient music, it has been aptly described by some listeners as shimmering soundscapes, a definition that resonates with me.
