As a long time Hofsteder fan, and Martin Gardner fan (I have his annotated Alice),(subscribed to the good old Scientific American, when it was the most elegant magazine in America, (no more) since I was 10 years old, and read it all cover to cover. Thanks for the video about "video description's length". I was having the same problem. I noticed you were from Houston and your mother is apparently from the Netherlands. I am (almost) from Houston (Columbus) and am living (almost) in the Netherlands (Germany). If I were to have kids here in Germany, then they would be in your same situation of having a parent from another country. Not an easy situation, but interesting. Looked at some of your "favorites", thanks for the new ideas. Best.

Hello! I was watching your first video for the Dutch accents and I share your distress of not being able to speak your mother's language. I could be tri-lingual right now (and thus be able to pursue other languages), but the other two languages fell out of use in my house and now I'm the typical American :-p
I was wondering, do you get very self conscious when you try to speak Dutch in front of relatives? Are you actively trying to relearn it? I usually become too embarrassed by my accent to even try.

If you like i can send you a Dutch course I made myself... Maybe it is not the best but I think way better than the courses on internet. It gives a good view on how to pronounce Dutch (in my opinion)
Just let me know if you are interested.
If you have some written down, please send it to me, both ways Dutch to English and the other way around.

Ik heb het nederlands voor 6 weken geleerd en het is mijn favouriet taal, ik vond het makkelijk omdat ik het duits en het engels spreken kan, ik dacht uw nederlands is zeer goed en ik denk jij ben zeer goed in het nederlands (niet als mij hahaha) en zeer het interesseren, uw Accent videos zijn heel goed en ik houd van hen.
