Isley Brothers, Move Over and Let Me Dance 1965 (Jimi Hendrix on guitar). This makes me want to laugh and dance at the same time - amazing vocal and guitar performances! This is a 70's re-release of the original 1965 45 single remixed to bring Jimi's guitar forward. I'm looking for a copy of the original mix and will put it up here when I get it. Here's a good interview about Jimi's time with the Isleys. http://www.jimi-hendrix.com/magazine/601/601,interview,isley .html
Move Over And Let Me Dance Composers: Ronald Isley, Rudolph Isley & O'Kelly Isley Arranger: Teacho Wilshire Conductor: Teacho Wilshire Recorded at: Atlantic Studios, New York City, New York Engineer: ? Producer: "A T-Neck Production" Date: 5 August 1965 Bass: Al Lucas Drums: James Brown and/or Bobby Gregg Lead guitar: Jimi Hendrix Rhythm guitar: Douglas McArthur and/or Carl Lynch Tambourine: unknown Vocals: Ronald Isley, Rudolph Isley & O'Kelly Isley Trumpet: Jimmy Nottingham, Eddie Williams Trombone: Quentin Jackson, Dickie Harris Tenor sax: Seldon Powell Baritone sax: Haywood Henry http://www.earlyhendrix.com/artists/isley/rec.htm
From Isley Brothers Wiki article: "By 1964, however, the Isleys had yet to follow up with another hit, having modest success with the similar "Twistin' With Linda". After their original version of "Who's That Lady" failed to generate buzz, the group decided to form their own label, which they called T-Neck Records. Within a year, the Isleys cut their first independent singles in the label, two of which ("Testify" and "Move On Over & Let Me Dance") featured a Seattle guitarist going by the name of Jimmy James. James was also the leading guitarist in the brothers' touring band. After leaving, he changed his name back to Jimi Hendrix and became a sensation soon afterwards."

Dambala, Exuma (Tony McKay) 1970 Oh Dambala, come Dambala Think of the wings of a three-toed frog Eat weeds from the deepest part of sea Bring the trumpet from heaven And the fire from hell Then nobody can break the spell Oh Dambala, come Dambala On the seventh day God will appear On the seventh night Satan will be there On the seventh day God will appear On the seventh night Satan will be there Oh Dambala, come Dambala You slavers will know What it's like to be a slave A slave to your heart A slave to your heads A slave to your souls A slave to your graves You won't go to heaven You won't go to hell You'll remain in your graves With the stench and the smell Oh Dambala come Dambala I'll melt down your walls I'll melt your steel guns I'll make you dumb I'll make you blind Dambala sends demons Dambala sends angels Dambala sends fire Dambala sends water Oh Dambala come Dambala http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exuma_%28musician%29 Exuma (Tony McKay) 1942-1977, born Cat Island (Bahamas) died in Nassau, Bahamas. Exuma was known for his almost unclassifiable music.. a mixture of carnival, junkanoo, calypso and ballad. In his early days in New York's Greenwich Village, Tony McKay (his self given name)performed in small clubs and bars. Tony launched EXUMA - a 7-person group that toured and recorded albums, starting with Exuma: The Obeah Man in 1970, ending with Rude Boy in 1986. His songs envoke influences from calypso, junkanoo, reggae, African and folk music with his lyrics dealing heavily with OBEAH {VODUN}. His backing band was known as the Junk Band. Over the years Exuma has played and/or toured with Patti LaBelle, Curtis Mayfield, Rita Marley, Peter Tosh, Toots and the Maytals, Sly and the Family Stone, Steppenwolf, Black Flag and the Neville Brothers. In 1978 Exuma was awarded the British Empire Medal by Queen Elizabeth II for his contributions to Bahamian culture. ---------- "A Bahamian visionary, humanistic philosopher and people's poet. Exuma gives expression to the beauty and power of the cultural life of the Bahamas - the people's every day experiences, folklore, myths, stories, junkanoo, rake and scrape, pain, joy, struggle and survival. His life and art reflect the wonderful cultural heritage and personality of Bahamians, drawing on the roots of Africa and the branches of the Amerindians, Europeans and Americans." Alfred M. Sears There are also certain lwa who are mute, who never speak under any circumstances. One such lwa, in the Rada group, is Dambala. Dambala is a serpent, and as such he does not speak. A person possessed by Dambala immediately falls to the ground and crawls, like a snake. The possessed person may climb trees, or the centerpost of the peristyle, without using their hands, because a snake does not have hands. Like a snake, too, Dambala will eat a raw egg, and sip milk. Many of these fantastic black and white photos are copyright Elena Kalis http://photo.net/photos/kalis Most of the paintings are by Exuma (Tony McKay)

An amazing and under-appreciated recording from the Ram era (also 'B' side of the Another Day 45), it features one of Paul's fiercest vocal tracks - buried in the mix 10 years before Mitch Easter buried Michael Stipe's vocals -, and has a lo-fi feel 20 years before Guided By Voices made basement recording cool. This track sends chills up my spine every time. Paul rocking his ass off! (From Wikipedia Oh Woman, Oh Why) "Oh Woman, Oh Why" is a song by musician Paul McCartney. It was first released on the Apple Records label in February 1971 as the B-side to "Another Day". The release achieved top-5 status on both sides of the Atlantic, reaching U.S. #5 and U.K. #2 in April 1971.[1]The song has been praised for McCartney's impressive range of pitch.
Although "Another Day" and "Oh Woman, Oh Why" were not originally released as part of a Paul McCartney album, the latter was released as a bonus track on later editions of Ram.

Game Theory rehearsal, Little Ivory (Lolita nation) mixed with end of Japanese art film Crazed Fruit. Lolita Nation produced by Mitch Easter (Let's Active).
Lolita Nation Wikipedia entry: Ambitious, 1986 double-album mix of well-crafted songs, soundscapes and rock has been called Game Theory and Loud Family leader Scott Miller's masterpiece.
Crazed Fruit synopsis from Criterion Collection Web site: Two brothers compete for the amorous favors of a young woman during a seaside summer of gambling, boating, and drinking, in this seminal Sun Tribe (taiyozoku) film from director Ko Nakahira. Adapted from the controversial novel by Shintaro Ishihara, and critically savaged for its lurid portrayal of the postwar sexual revolution among Japan's young and privileged, Crazed Fruit is an anarchic outcry against tradition and the older generation.
