POEM...DAD..1949-2004
From the moment i was born,
i was first in your arms,
from that beginning our bond began,
you raised me up, taught me right from wrong,
helped me thru life, helped me to understand,
i never feared anything when you were around,
when i found out you were going to die,
my world fell apart, everyday i watched you get weaker and weaker, you were bedridden in the end, you didnt want to live any longer, you just wanted to sleep, to get away from this illness and pain which ran thru your veins,
i remember the day, i cried standing by your bed, you said to me dont cry its not worth it, then you asked will i be ok? the night you died, i died too, seeing you lying there, broke me to pieces, you are gone, ive lost you, they were my first thoughts at the moment in time, that night when i got home, i wanted to die, i lay on my bed asking god to forgive me, cos there was no way i was living my life without you, i had everything ready, no going back, i was going to be with you again, only if god would forgive, but it was a chance i was going to take to be with you, to be safe with you..then i looked up, and you were there, you smiled and said i am here, i will always be here, you came closer to me, i felt a real cool breeze and with that, i breathed in a scenty smell, a scent which does not exist in this world, you softly spoke words in my ear..secret words i cannot write, i felt my eyes close, i fell asleep, the next day, i knew what i had to do...to live and relize that everyday your by my side..my heart and soul have healed now, im stronger, nothing eles in this world will ever break me,your love for me is so strong and our bond is not broken, i love you dad and i will never forget you.see you soon...copyright © 2007 jzc aka zoe
