Since this video, Harmonix has drastically improved the quality of thier drumsets: drumsets that are faulty with broken sensors (like the ones in the drumset in this video) should no longer be in circulation.
I'm still going to leave this video up however, just for history's sake, and for the few bad sets that still may be in circulation, so that people can realize that it's not them screwing up, it may be the pad.
I have nothing against Harmonix nor EA, and I think Harmonix made an incredible game here with Rock Band, and they've been doing a great job at improving the sets, but yeah, there were many faulty sets shipped out at first, and this was one of them.
I've replaced this set long ago: again, this video is up for informative reasons at this point.
Call up EA and request a return if yours is faulty.
And for those of you saying i'm hitting it too hard, you have no idea what you're talking about; i'm barely using any force at all 95% of the time in this video.
FINALLY, my grip is fine for playing this game; play on this set before you say that, playing on this set is NOTHING like playing on a real drumset in terms of size, height, feel, movements needed, or anything else.
My pinkies only come out on this a few times because of the height of the drumset, keeping them in would make it impossible to get anywhere near the leverage needed to do rolls that fast (again DUE TO THE HEIGHT OF THE DRUMSET AND IT'S SMALL SIZE.)
I honestly can't believe the mass of comments that involve people not even reading the info at all and just making uninformed comments.
And yes, i've been playing a real drumset for 4+ years on and off.

My six year-old son playing the guitar for Iron Maiden's "Run to the Hills" on Rock Band at the Expert level. He isn't using the Fender Stratocaster guitar controller for Rock Band because the neck on it is longer than the wireless PS2 guitar controller. He has trouble using the Fender comfortably so he prefers to play with his old wireless controller.
The Camera was not tripod mounted for this video to allow close up shots of the PS2, showing that there is only one controller connected, and to show close up shots of his hands while playing.

yes, i'm a real life drummer, have been for years.
no, you do not play RB drums like you do real drums.
the tape is there to fix the pads as they were shitty out of the box.
if you comment saying "you play this too much/get a life", this was my 2nd try on it, practically the day the game came out: so no, i did not practice this.
